Despite pandemic and economic crisis EuRec could deliver machines to Duisburg

RHD RecyclingHof Duisburg GmbH, as a container service provider, disposes of waste such as building rubble, mixed construction waste, wood, soil, gypsum, garden and park waste at several locations in the Ruhr area.

Since 2005, RHD RecyclingHof Duisburg GmbH has been using an EuRec® Shredder S 20.00 D with a drive performance of approx. 270 kW. As the machine had a hydraulic damage after 20,000 operating hours in November 2019, RHD decided to purchase a more modern and powerful EuRec® Shredder S 24.00 D with a drive performance of approx. 310 kW after a successfully completed demonstration in January 2020.

During the Covid19 lockdown, the ordered machine has manufactured at EuRec® in compliance with strict safety and health regulations. Parallel to the manufacturing of the S 24.00 D, the defective S 20.00 D has also been repaired and overhauled in Merkers.

Once the situation has eased somewhat, the new machine could start operation at the beginning of calendar week 23 on the company premises in Duisburg. Here, mainly industrial waste as well as wood and green waste is shredded and forwarded to the further recycling steps.

After now 15 years the overhauled machine S 20.00 D gets a rebirth as a "reserve machine" and takes over lighter shredding materials at the location Unna.

After relaxation of Corona rules and lifting of contact restrictions, Mr. Christoph Kottmann, Managing Director of EuRec Environmental Technology GmbH, visited RHD in Duisburg on 18.06.2020. Of course, the visit was carried out in accordance with the recommendations still in force.

RHD is highly satisfied with both EuRec® Shredders S 20.00 D and S 24.00 D. The second largest low-speed shredder in the EuRec delivery program is the optimal solution for RHD.  Mr. Goldschmidt praised EuRec machines, which run trouble-free and perfectly. Especially the result of the now 15 years old, completely overhauled S 20.00 D surprised him. The customer is very satisfied with the quality of the machines in general and the respective tool shafts. Both the desired throughput and the desired material size in the discharge are easily reached.

During the visit RHD made some helpful suggestions for improvement, which EuRec will implement. RHD also communicated new goals, plans to be implemented in the short term and possible further development measures together with EuRec. EuRec is ready to establish contact between own partner companies and RHD in order to help the longtime good customer to develop and achieve its goals.

In addition, the EuRec employees were once again able to pick up many useful tips and suggestions from the operator during this visit. The acceptance and implementation of these operator statements are essential keys to the success of EuRec machines. This results in a continuous improvement in the interest of our customers.
